Washington Parish Clerk of Court

The Washington Parish Clerk of Court is a unified Louisiana clerk office. The official function page says the Clerk is the repository for civil suits and filings, property transfers by sales and donations, mortgages, liens, deeds, criminal and juvenile proceedings, marriages and divorces, passports, adoptions, court proceedings, jury commission work, and elections. The eSearch banner identifies the current Clerk as Johnny D. Crain, Jr.

Because Washington Parish does not have a split district clerk and county clerk system, district-court case files and many recording records point back to the same Clerk of Court. Louisiana public-records law supports access, but juvenile, sealed, expunged, adoption, child-related, and other restricted records may still be withheld or limited.

Request Washington Parish Certified Copies

Certified copies are official Clerk copies used when a plain image or photocopy is not enough. They may be needed for judgments, divorce decrees, probate judgments of possession, marriage records, land recordings, and case filings. The research did not locate a universal online certified-copy request form for all Clerk records, so requests should be made through the Clerk counter, phone, mail, or eSearch identification path.

2. Gather names, approximate filing date, case number or instrument number if known, and the exact document needed.
3. Check eSearch when the online image range may cover the record, but do not rely on an online image as certified proof.
4. Call 985-839-4663 or visit the Clerk at 908-B Washington St. to confirm copy fees, certification cost, payment method, and delivery.
5. Submit payment by an accepted method. The fee page lists cash, check, money order, and credit or debit in office, and check or money order by mail.

Washington Parish Request Fields
